Day 01: UK - Muscat (30kms)
Meet your tour manager at London Airport and board the flight to Muscat. On arrival at Muscat airport, clear immigration & customs and board the coach. Welcome to Oman: A stunning contrast of deserts, mountain, and beaches with all comforts of a bustling, modern metropolis. Check into your hotel for 3 nights at Al Falaj Muscat or similar.

Day 02: Muscat City Tour (30kms)
Today you’ll start your day with half day city tour with a visit to Grand Mosque followed by brief orientation tour of modern Muscat. Later drive towards the walled city and the old town of Muscat. Visit Bait Al Zubhair Museum and then to Al Alam Palace (His Majesty Sultan Qaboos residence Palace) for a photo-stop. Later you’ll have a photo-stop at Portuguese built Mirani and Jalali Forts. Before you end the tour, visit the colourful Muttrah Souq where traditional Omani items like the Khanjars, Dallah (Bronze Coffee Pot), and the exotic spices, the Frankincense are being sold. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 03: Muscat – Nakhl – Rusatq – Muscat (400kms)
After breakfast today you’ll embark on full day tour to the Batinah Region of Oman, you will have a stop at Barka Fish market, Bait Naman and then to Nakhl, which has a magnificent fort rising out of the rocky mountain and towering well above this small town, which has large date plantation. The narrow road through the town winds up to the Hot Springs, which is a popular picnic, spot. You will have your picnic lunch here and then continue to Rustaq, once the capital of this area and always a major trading centre of Oman. Visit Rustaq Fort, there after drive back to Muscat.

Day 04: Muscat – Bahla –Jabrin - Nizwa (300kms)
Today morning after breakfast you’ll proceed to Bahla, one of the oldest villages and the capital of the local tribes during 12th century. Since the fort is closed for renovations you will have only a photo stop. This village is also famous for Arabian Potteries. Visit one of the pottery making units. Later drive onwards to visit Jabrin castle built in 17th century with magnificent plasterwork, wooden carvings, and painted ceiling makes this castle amazingly different. Drive back to Nizwa. Overnight at Falaj Daris or similar in Nizwa.

Day 05: Nizwa – Muscat (200kms)
Being Friday you will have the opportunity to visit the Animal Market (Camel, Goat etc) one of the major sight in Nizwa. Later visit Nizwa Souk, which is built in a traditional style with arches, alleyways and wood fretwork windows. It covers an area of 7600 sq metre and includes separate buildings for Vegetables, Fruits, Meat, Fish, Dates and Handicrafts etc. Then visit the famous round tower fort of Nizwa, which is probably one of the best architecture in Oman. Later you will have your lunch (Indian) at Falaj Daris Nizwa, check out and transfer back to Muscat. On arrival check into Hotel Al Falaj Muscat or similar.

Day 06: Day at Leisure or Wahiba & Wadi Bani Khaled full day excursion (Optional) (600kms)
After breakfast day is free at leisure. Or take advantage of an exciting optional excursion of the Wadi. The tour begins by driving through the fascinating Hajar Mountains and the town of Ibra to Wadi Bani Khalid, one of Oman's most beautiful wadis (dry river bed), famous for its lush green oases, water pools and deep canyons. The tour then proceeds to the Wahiba desert for an exciting dune drive and the opportunity to try camel riding. On the way back to Muscat there is a final stop at the village of Mudairib to see its traditional watchtowers.

Day 07: Muscat – UK
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and transfer to Muscat Airport for your flight back home with wonderful memories. We hope you take back happy memories of your Sona Tour.
